La manifestazione di canottaggio costiero partirà venerdì 28 marzo e si concluderà domenica 30 marzo nella spiaggia di Mondello.

Inizia il conto alla rovescia per la prima tappa nazionale del Trofeo Lido Filippi Beach Sprint (Lido Filippi International Trophy 1) edizione 2025. Una regata che renderà ancora una volta Palermo protagonista Internazionale del Coastal Rowing Beach Sprint.

Sono oltre 400 i canottieri attesi nelle acque di Mondello per una disciplina che nel panorama delle manifestazioni remiere continua a richiamare l’attenzione di molti. Parliamo del canottaggio svolto in mare che nella formula “Beach Sprint” diventerà infatti disciplina Olimpica nei Giochi delle Olimpiadi 2028 di Los Angeles.

La manifestazione partirà venerdì 28 marzo e si concluderà domenica 30 marzo, sotto l’egida organizzativa della Canottieri Mondello e del Club Canottieri Roggero di Lauria (COL).

Nella borgata marinara di Palermo sono attesi, oltre agli equipaggi siciliani, anche quelli provenienti da tutta Italia ma anche equipaggi provenienti da altre nazioni. Infatti il Trofeo da quest’anno assume in assetto Internazionale con l’assegnazione del massimo premio di 20.000€ al migliore equipaggio Internazionale che avrà ottenuto i migliori risultati nelle 4 tappe del circuito. Il premio messo in palio dal costruttore italiano di barche da canottaggio e Coastal Rowing “Filippi”.

La spiaggia di Mondello sarà quindi trasformata in uno splendido campo gara. La partenza, infatti, avviene proprio sull’arenile. La formula classica e spettacolare del Beach Sprint prevede un tratto di corsa sulla spiaggia, la rapida salita in barca con slalom di 250 + 250 metri, che precede la discesa veloce dallo scafo di un componente dell’equipaggio che termina l’ultimo tratto di gara con una corsa sulla battigia di circa 30 metri. fino al traguardo. Tante le variabili che rendono imprevedibile l’esito di ogni gara: dalle onde, dal vento, dalla corrente ma anche da semplici errori di direzione e tanto altro ancora.
